The historical market town of Market Bosworth offers a wealth of activities. Wednesdays is market day, held in the cobblestone Bosworth Square & run by Caroline Dixie, daughter of the late Sir Wolston Dixie.  Surrounding the Square are a wealth of shops, bars, tea-rooms and restaurants, including Dressini, Floral Studio, Michaelmas House, Square one Bistro and Café Torte tea rooms. There's The Black Horse Restaurant, the authentic Italian Pizzeria at The Dixie Arms Hotel and Softleys Wine bar.  On the eastern edge of the town is Market Bosworth Country Park, set in 35 Bosworth with fine, mature trees, a lake, a planted arboretum with exotic species, a wildflower meadow and a community woodland. Bosworth Water Trust lies one mile south of the town with has canoeing, sailing and rowing. The Battlefield Centre is a unique day out for all the family and lies 2 miles to the south of Bosworth and can be reached via the gated road which leads of the south side of The Square.  There are several walks of interest in the area all well sign posted.  Bosworth Water Trust, a 50 acre leisure park with lakes for sailing and fishing. There are sailboards, canoes, dinghies, rowing boats and wetsuits for hire. Facilities for camping and caravanning are also provided, making it an ideal venue for a safe family activity weekend.  If you like the tranquillity of the water you can hire a boat out for the day from the Ashby Boat Company at Stoke Golding and travel along the longest canal in the country without a lock. Stoke is 4 miles south of Market Bosworth. At Sutton Cheney Warf the you can have tea at the canal side tea room. If you like old country pubs, within five miles Bosworth you have The Belper Arms to the north, at Newton Burgland, at over 800 years old it's one of the oldest pubs in Leicestershire & to the west is The Cock at Sibson, a thirteenth century coaching inn, said to be used by the in-famous highwayman Dick Turpin. Twycross Zoo is a ten minute drive away and is listed amongst the top ten zoos in the country.  can be found to the northwest of the town, less than a ten minute drive away, and makes for a very enjoyable day out. From the Square, turn left at the Co-op.  At the A444 turn right and the zoo is 3 miles on the left.  Leicester is within easy reach and a bus service 153 leaves at ten to the hour from the Square. The nearby towns with market are Hinckley every Monday, and Nuneaton Wednesday and Saturday.
